This lovely Bonobo Ape soft plush toy was designed by experienced craftsmen and is handmade with top quality materials. This soft toy conforms to all European standards (EN71 BS5665).
Bonobo apes were the last ape species to be identified in 1926. This is because they live in only one place, the left bank of the Congo river in central Africa. While Bonobo apes share the same genus, Bonobos and Chimps are markedly different species. Behaviourly, they are humans' closest cousins. Humans share about 98% of the same genes.
Bonobos are an extremely endangered species as a result of war and the so called bush meat trade. Their habitat is in decline but the number of Bonobo apes left is very difficult to estimate because of the political unrest in the area and they have no legal protection.
NOTE: Not suitable for children under the age of 36 months.
